第293回通常例会/Regular Meeting No.293

Today we had an induction ceremony for 2 new members!
And we also had 4 guests, and 2 guests decided to join our club!
It was really a great event for us!

One of our former club members also visited us, and she talked about what's been going on lately.

In Yokohama Ocean Toastmasters Club, all members learn English / Japanese communication from each other.

今日は２名の新会員の入会式。４名の方のゲスト，さらにそのうち２名から入会宣言をいただくというとても嬉しい会になりました！！

1st half is Japanese session. TM K.S. took a role of today's Toastmasters of the morning. As he is always a trustworthy member, he well prepared in advance and greatly facilitatied today's meeting too. The other helpers also constibuted to the fruitful meeting. Great job, all!

An induction ceremony was held first for two new members. As TM C.B. and TM P officially became our members, we are grateful to have them. Let's grow together. Let's step forward together.

There are multiple techniques to get audience attention effectively, and the technique I was impressed today was "Visual aids". Visual aid such as PPT is an effective tool to make audiences remember. TM K.S, TM J.I, and TM K.E. used one, respectively, for Opening, Word of the morning "Trust" and 『出会い』. More than that, TM K.S. sung a disney song during the opening, which is the first time I saw :) Really impressive.

We have two English prepared speeches today.

1st speech is "My communication style" by TM K.S. The evaluator is TM Y.K. He suggested that an actual example to support her communication style could make it a little more convincing.

2nd speech is "An Unexpected Ally" by TM K.M. The evaluater is TM S.A. He provided an constructive suggestion that adding a strong key message could make the speech more vivid.

TT questions are based on the prepared speeches.

後半は日本語セッション。日本語の準備スピーチは2本です。

1本目のスピーチはKさんによる『トーストマスターズの心得』。TMCを有意義にするためのヒントを４点紹介してくれました。その論評はEさん。まとめ→良い点→改善点（スピーチ目標に沿うことの重要性）とスムーズな流れで論評されました。

2本目のスピーチはVPEによる『久しぶりの…』。準備スピーチやらなきゃ！と奮い立たせてくれるVPEからの素晴らしいスピーチで，ベストスピーカーに選ばれました！そう，コンフォートゾーンの先に自己成長や楽しさが待ってるのです！

その論評はOさん。お手本になる論評。まとめ→良い点→改善点（ボーカルバラエティ技術面）としっかり論評され，ベスト論評者に選ばれました。

TTは準備スピーチからの質問2問。今年やってみたいこと。ゲストの方に振られましたが，お2人とも頑張って即興スピーチされてました。そしてこのお2人からの入会宣言。新しいメンバーを迎えて，横浜オーシャンTMCはますます活気あふれるクラブになりますね！次回例会も楽しみです。

Sunday, February 11, 2024, the first meeting of February, the online meeting was held in the morning. The meeting was held from 10:00 a.m. to noon with a total of 15 participants. And usually the meetings are separated by about one hour each for English and Japanese. Today, however, since there were one prepared speech in English and three prepared speeches in Japanese, the first half of the English session lasted about 45 minutes, while the second half of the Japanese session lasted a little over an hour. 2024年2月11日（日）、2月の1回目、今日はオンライン例会が開催されました。 1名のゲストを迎え、合計15名の参加者で、午前10時から正午までの2時間のミーティングで、通常は英語の部と日本語の部、各1時間程度ずつですが、今日は英語の準備スピーチ1名、日本語の準備スピーチが3名と言うスタイルだったことから、前半の英語の部が約45分、後半の日本語の部が約1時間強と言うスケジュールとなりました。 Today's facilitator, Toastmaster of the Morning (TMOM), was TM TS, a first-time TMOM.
