4月の2回目、今日はハイブリッド例会が開催されました。
会場参加者4名、オンライン参加者11名合計15名（後半途中退出2名）参加形態となりました。
今回、Zoomのオプション新機能「自動翻訳版字幕：完全文字起こし機能」の実装を試みました。先週の土曜日に3名で実施したリハーサルでは上手くいくことを確認済みだったのですが、今日の本番では想定していたようには機能しませんでした。話者全員の設定が必要で同じ人が設定を変えないまま両言語を使用するのもNGと言う仕様です。
ただ、上手く使いこなせれば、Sさんの人力同時通訳に頼らず、自動的に同等レベルとまではもちろん無理ですが、外国人メンバーや英語初心者へは大きなサポートになることが期待される機能です。Chat GPTに代表されるように、この分野のテクノロジーの進化スピードは、目を見張るものがあり、クラブの更なる発展に寄与するためにチャレンジしていければと。
さて、例会に話を戻して、教育セッションは、日本語セッションからのスタートです。
今日は初司会（TMOM)のSのさん、オンライン参加で体調も万全ではない中、様々な直前の変更のマネジメント対応含め準備を着実に進め、当日のプログラム変更にも機敏な判断でコントロールの上、時間管理もしっかりとした形で本日のプログラムを最後まできちんと進めてくれました。
今日の言葉は、日本語を学習中のSハンさんから「熱心」を流暢な日本語も交えて紹介してくれました。
日本語準備スピーチは、W松さん。トーストマスターズ恒例の即席スピーチの攻略方法に関して、聴衆との相互コミュニケーションを交えながら20分のワークショップ形式で実施してくれました。
上達するためには、即席というわけには行かず、①インプット、②アウトプット、③メンタル強化と言う３段階をしっかりとこなしていくことが必要とのことです。インプットに関しては、最近、ネット情報に偏りがちですが、新聞・雑誌やテレビ他様々な媒体から入手するのがベターだそうです。とっても参考になりました、スピーチタイトル通りテーブルトピックスは怖いものなので、なるべく当たらないように願っていましたが、どんどんアウトプットの機会を作って上達していきたいものです。
続いて日本語テーブルトピックスは、Tさんから、W松さんのスピーチのトピックから次の3問が投げかけられました。
Q1. 好きなインプットは？ To O田さん
Q2. 好きなことで深掘りできそうなことは？ To S田さん
Q3. 毎日やっている習慣は？ To E藤さん
いずれの回答者も、直前のW松さんのワークショップでの学びを生かして、的確かつユーモアも交えた回答を発表してくれました。
休憩を挟み、後半は【英語の部】に移ります。
In English session, TM KE introduced the word “Gusto”. It’s a nice and positive word for when you express joyful stuff.
Then, for the prepared speeches, TM JY and TM KI delivered their speeches.
1st speaker, TM JY spoke about “How turn a challenging event into an empowering one”. He delivered a logical speech with some concrete ways of making it happen so.
2nd speaker, TM KI delivered a speech regarding his Next Step in career. He explained his path so far and learning which brought him to come to set the next step. He also mentioned how TMC experience has contributed to his path quoting an impressive word “Successful Person Never Wastes Weekend.”
In terms of English Table Topics session, TMOM KS posed the following questions picking up from prepared speeches just done earlier.
Q1. How would you reward yourself when you achieve the target you set beforehand? => TM MK
Q2. What is the best learning you have obtained from joining TMC? => TM SO
Q3. What is your next step? => TM CT
All the respondents had appropriate impromptu speeches partly thanks to TM MW’s workshop.
Next, we had an Evaluation session.
1st evaluation for TM JY was done by TM EK. She picked up many commendable points with reasons properly, then shared a tip to improve the slide he used in his speech in a positive manner.
2nd evaluation for TM KI was taken care of by TM PL. He indicated both commendable points from his distinctive point of views followed by an improved point that was regarding the title.
At last, the general evaluator TM MK made a careful evaluation concisely one by one with some improvement points. While TM HK introduced the number of filler words used in speeches today, and number of times both English and Japanese Word of the Morning used during the meeting followed by some impressive words and phrases he felt such as “vice versa”, “down the road”, Global Mindset”, “intrapreneur”, “exceptional” and so forth.
Finally, the awards winners are introduced by TMOM TS as follows.

Best Evaluator: TM PL
Best Speaker: TM MW
