今日の例会はスペシャルでした！
なぜかというと、神奈川のトーストマスターズクラブ５クラブ合同のオンライン例会だったのです。人数が多いということもあり、1部（10時～12時）、2部（13時～15時）で行いました。
1部２部を通じて司会進行を務めて下さったのは、この地域のディレクターである、
Oさん。計画～準備～本番まで尽力下さいました。
さて、最初のスピーチは、Lさんです。
テーマは「私たちはAIとどう生きるのか？」とってもHotな話題でした。
AIに仕事を奪われる！という怖さがメディアでは強調されていますが、Lさんは上手く共存していくことが大切で、それは可能である、ということをとっても分かりやすく話してくださいました。
２番目のスピーチは、「Find good things about surrounding people!」。Oさんが、苦手だと思っていた人が実はそうではなかったというお仕事でのエピソードをお話しくださいました。なんとなく、苦手だ、嫌われているかも、と感じると距離をとってしまうことがありますが、それは思い込みかもしれないことを改めて感じました。
前半最後のスピーチは、理系女子Sさんによる「Chemistry is beautiful. 」化学反応の美しさ、なぜSさんが化学にハマったのか、を話してくださいました。超文系のわたしにも理解しやすく、そして化学って面白いんだな、と思えたことに自分でも驚きました（笑）
その後は、即興スピーチを鍛えるためのテーブルトピックス。トピックマスターはS田さん。「キャンプ」をテーマに、お題を考えて下さいました。
ランダムに指名をされるのですが、その時間がドキドキ・・ワクワク？！エピソードを思いつくかつかないかくらいの時間で１分以上話し続けなければなりません。話しながら、どれだけ話を広げられるか、深掘りができるか、鍛えたい人には最適な時間です。
その後は、休憩を挟み、論評の時間へ。
トーストマスターズクラブでは、スピーチをするだけではなく、スピーチを聞いた人が論評という形でスピーチをします。自分では気が付かない第三者目線でのアドバイスはプライスレスです！褒めてもらえるのは嬉しいですし、次につながる有用なフィードバックは本当に有り難いですね。
And from 1:00 PM, we move on to the second part. In our regular meeting, we usually announce a word of the day, and this time I gladly took on that role, choosing the word "Healthy." When we talk, think of the timing to use and include it to the speech. It will help us enhancing flexibility. Surprisingly, three members subtly incorporated the word into their speeches today—impressive!
Now, the second half is also packed with three speeches!
The first speech, "Thank you, Toastmasters Club!" by Ms. O, was a delightful blend of humor and emotion, skillfully merging the relationship between Toastmasters Club and Ms. O's father. Given that Ms. O's father is also a club member, I look forward to hearing his speech someday.
The next speech, "Mapo Eggplant," by Mr. K, humorously emphasized the importance of acknowledging differences and respecting each other, using Mapo Eggplant as an example. Those moments of understanding are truly touching and bring people closer together.
Finally, the last speech was delivered by the pinch-hitter, Ms. W, the president of our Yokohama Ocean Toastmasters Club. Despite her solid and reliable impression, this speech changed everything with the "I messed up" episode. The characters, W's emotions, the sense of urgency, and the moment of panic—all painted a vivid and amusing picture. One can't help but chuckle at such a speech.
After the speeches, we had Table Topics led by Ms. E. She presented topics related to the season and speeches. It's fascinating how even with the same theme, each person approached it differently. Through impromptu speeches, we get to see unknown facts of the members, making it enjoyable for both the speaker and the audience.
Following a break, we entered the evaluation session. In the second half as well, speakers received heartfelt and passionate feedback. The goal is to complete evaluations within three minutes, focusing on structure, time management, and the richness and usefulness of content. These speaking skills, honed here, are applicable in our professional lives!
そんなこんなで、後半の部もおわりに近づき・・
