After taking a short break, let's get started the 2nd half in English.
Toastmaster of the Morning (TMOM) is TM K who is an experienced member. The preparation of the meeting program beforehand and the facilitation of the meeting on the day are both perfect.
TM K presented a idiom of "More or Less" as the word of the morning. Using idioms during conversation makes it cool lie English speakers. We practice flexibly incorporating this word into speeches and evaluations during the meeting. This is actually quite challenging, so it will take practice throughout each meeting.
There are two English prepared speeches. The first speech is by TM S titled "Finding Harmony in Life's Rhythms". His speech was very motivational as usual, and poetic using beautiful English terms. As everyone have some challenges in their lives, his speech provided us with power to overcome it.
The second speech is by TM H titled "My Teaching Philosophy". Trying new thing is scary. Get out of your comfort zoon, but it is not so easy to do. It is important for teachers to make environment to make them feel they could get out of it. He shared his teaching philosophy based on his personal teaching experience; 1) Be real, 2) there is no bad question and 3) Be empathetic.
Table Topics, a practice session for impromptu speeches. TM Y is TT master and lead this session. There were three topics related to the English prepared speeches, and the asigned members delivered their impromptu speeches.
After the Table Topics, we moved on to the evaluations section. TM B evaluated TM S's speech titled "Finding Harmony in Life's Rhythm". TM B provided practical feedback including two good points and one improvement point. TM K evaluated TM H's speech titled "My Teaching Philosophy". His evaluation was also organized and convincing. These evaluations should help the speakers improve their speech skills.
Today's prepared speeches, evaluations and table topics speeches were of high quality, making it difficult to choose the winner. Amongst such a competitive field, TM A and TM H won the best evaluator and the best speaker, respectively! Congratulations!
Today's meeting was full of love as usual. There would be a long way to go until a goal, but as we take step by step just focusing on what is in front of us, we might realize that we have come a long way without even noticing. For doing so, it's much better to have companions than to be alone. As a record keeper, I felt that way today. I am looking forward to the next meeting!
