3月8日、第364回通常例会がオンラインで開催されました。春の気配を感じるこの季節、メンバーとゲストが集まり、スピーチと交流の時間となりました。
開会は教育担当副会長のLさんより行われ、ゲスト紹介とお知らせがありました。その後、今朝のトーストマスターはLさんが務め、柔軟な進行で例会をリードしました。本日の言葉もWさんが担当しました。本日の言葉は 「BLOOM」。この言葉は例会の中でも何度も使われ、会の雰囲気を明るくしてくれました。
前半は英語セッションからスタートしました。
最初の準備スピーチでは、Tさんが「Why Strange Movies Stay in Our Minds」という題でスピーチを行いました。印象に残る映画がなぜ記憶に残るのかというテーマについて、調査内容をもとに分かりやすく紹介するスピーチでした。
続いてMさんによるスピーチ「The Lens of “Knowing”」。知ること、理解することをテーマにしたスピーチで、印象的な表現もあり、聴衆の興味を引きつける内容でした。
その後のTable TopicsはWさんが担当しました。本日の言葉「BLOOM」も取り入れながら、春をテーマにした質問が出されました。春の訪れを感じた瞬間や、新しい生活の変化などについて、それぞれの視点からスピーチが行われました。
Evaluationでは、TさんのスピーチをKさんが担当し、スピーチ構成を丁寧に分析した論評が行われました。MさんのスピーチにはAさんが論評を担当し、分析の視点そのものについても触れながら、新しい視点を提示する論評となりました。
休憩をはさんだ後、後半は日本語セッションです。
まず役割紹介が行われ、日本語セッションの本日の言葉として 「うららか」 が紹介されました。春らしい穏やかな空気を感じさせる言葉で、例会の雰囲気にもぴったりの表現でした。
準備スピーチでは、Sさんが「台湾料理とは」という題でスピーチを行いました。台湾料理の特徴や魅力について、ビジュアル資料を使いながら紹介する興味深い内容でした。
続いてOさんによるスピーチ「WBC日本代表に届けたかったもの」。スポーツをテーマにした情熱のこもったスピーチで、聴衆の共感を集めました。
日本語Table TopicsはSさんが担当しました。好きな春の和菓子やおすすめの日本料理など、日本の食文化をテーマにした質問が出され、参加者それぞれの個性が光るスピーチが続きました。また、「ぼたもち」と「おはぎ」に関するミニ知識も紹介され、楽しく学びのあるセッションとなりました。
論評では、SさんのスピーチをIさんが担当し、視覚資料の使い方を中心とした具体的なフィードバックが行われました。OさんのスピーチにはSさんが論評を担当し、もう一つのスピーチと比較しながら新たな視点を提示する論評となりました。
最後に受賞者発表と閉会の挨拶が行われ、第364回通常例会は和やかな雰囲気の中で終了しました。
スピーチ、即興スピーチ、論評と、多くの学びと挑戦が詰まった例会となりました。

The 364th regular meeting of Yokohama Ocean Toastmasters Club was held online on March 8th.
With the arrival of spring, members and guests gathered for a morning of speeches and交流.
The meeting opened with remarks by VP Education TM L, followed by guest introductions and announcements. The Toastmaster of the Morning was TM L, who guided the meeting smoothly and flexibly. TM W also introduced the Word of the Morning: “BLOOM.” The word was used throughout the meeting and added a bright and positive tone to the session.
The meeting began with the English session.
The first prepared speech was delivered by TM T, titled “Why Strange Movies Stay in Our Minds.” The speech explored why certain unusual movies remain memorable, presenting the topic through research and clear explanations.
Next, TM M delivered a speech titled “The Lens of ‘Knowing.’” The speech focused on the theme of understanding and knowledge, including memorable expressions that captured the audience’s attention.
The English Table Topics session was facilitated by TM W. Using the word “BLOOM” as inspiration, participants spoke about spring-related topics such as feeling signs of spring or experiencing changes in their lives.
During the Evaluation session, TM K evaluated TM T’s speech with careful analysis of its structure and provided helpful feedback. TM A evaluated TM M’s speech and shared a thoughtful analytical perspective that offered new insights for the audience.
After a short break, the Japanese session began.
The Japanese Word of the Morning “うららか (uraraka)” was introduced, describing the gentle and pleasant feeling of a spring day.
In the prepared speeches, TM S delivered a speech titled “What Is Taiwanese Cuisine?” The speech introduced the characteristics and appeal of Taiwanese food while effectively using visual aids.
Next, TM O presented “What I Wanted to Send to the Japanese WBC Team.” It was a passionate speech about sports that resonated strongly with the audience.
The Japanese Table Topics session was led by TM S. Questions related to Japanese food culture, such as favorite spring sweets and recommended Japanese dishes, prompted lively responses from participants. A short explanation about botamochi and ohagi also added an educational element to the session.
For evaluations, TM I evaluated TM S’s speech with feedback focused on the use of visual aids. TM S evaluated TM O’s speech, offering new perspectives by comparing it with another speech.
Finally, the award presentation and closing remarks brought the meeting to a close.
The session was filled with learning and inspiration through speeches, Table Topics, and evaluations.
